MARK J. ANDERSEN
I have been a practicing attorney for ten years. During my first eight years of practice, I prosecuted crimes ranging from criminal speeding to homicide in Maricopa County and Pinal County Attorney’s Offices.
In January of 2006, I opened my own private practice. As a private defense attorney, I handle crimes ranging from civil traffic tickets, photo radar, DUIs in all of their varieties, Domestic Violence Assaults, Disorderly Conduct, Sexual Abuse, Sexual Assault, Indecent Exposure, Drug cases, Gun and Weapon cases, Auto Theft, Robbery, Burglary, Endangerment, Aggravated Assaults, Forgeries, Taking Identity of Another, Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices and Homicides in several counties in Arizona. I also have experience in appellate work. I am licensed to practice in every Arizona State Court as well as the Federal District Court in Arizona.
I have tried over sixty jury trials while an attorney in Arizona. This experience allows me to be in an exceptionally good position to judge the viability of a defense and the strength of the Government’s evidence. When you hire Mark J. Andersen, you actually get Mark J. Andersen. I make myself available and I keep my clients informed at every stage of the process.
Some folks who start their criminal case represented by a public defender end up retaining me. I worked with many public defenders while I was a prosecutor and I remain friends with several today. The main complaint I hear from my clients formerly represented by a public defender is that they believed they were getting the short shrift from their public defender. They were not being kept advised. They didn't know what was going on in their case and they didn't think that the public defender was fighting for them. Many public defenders are competent, knowledgeable, hardworking and talented. The problem is that they are overwhelmed by truly unmanageable case loads so their ability to give particularized attention to each case is severely limited.
As a prosecutor, I often carried a case load of over 150 cases at one time. As a private attorney, I can afford to keep my caseload under 30 cases at any given time. This affords me the ability to give specialized attention to each case and to actually fight for you instead of simply processing each case. My practice is not about generating a mill of scared potential clients to cash in their equity and their savings or sign up for some outrageous payment plan and then to forget about them once I have their money. My practice is only satisfying to me when I am helping people.
